Has any one noticed over the past 4 years that prior to the major elections, gas prices seem to magically decrease a bit and suddenly, there are DRAMATIC TERRORIST CAPTURES normally of a high level terrorist.

I just heard on the news that Bin Ladin's #2 guy (mind you, not Bin Ladin) was captured by US Troops.
This was followed by a congressman saying

"yeah, if we stay the course things will get better in Iraq...blach blah blah"

Following that story, I saw footage of "LOWERING GAS PRICES THROUGHOUT THE COUNTRY" .

Indeed, earlier today I noticed regular unleaded had dropped from $3.25 to $2.85 over the past 4 weeks.

Interestingly enough, I remember how a little over 2 years ago, RIGHT BEFORE ELECTIONS there was suddenly a decrease in gas prices and there were some dramatic terorist captures that the Bush Administration was sure to televise regularly.

Right after the elctions were over though, gas skyrocketed to the recent $2.99 average/gallon.

DOES THE GOVERNMENT THINK PEOPLE ARE STUPID?

I have a REALLY GOOD MEMORY.

Not only do I remember events, I remember the order in which they happen. Basically, if you pay close attention to the political calendar of
The capture of Hussein,
The killing of his sons
the killing of Al Zarqoi (spelling?)
and the killings or captures of major Iraqi terrorists, youd see that ALL OF THEM have political importance such as coincidence with LOW POLL NUMBERS and ELECTION TIME...

BTW, I was watching FOX NEWS - if that means anything.

It has to do with all of the "positive spinning" they are doing to make the Republican time in the White House appear productive and not a total waste of time and money. I mean, they have hired a PR firm to assist the military in making the reports from Iraq more upbeat and have the media focus on the "postivie" effects of the US being in Iraq. And the advisors (if you listen) have informed the pres and company to comment on the "war on terrorism" instead of "the war in Iraq".

That is why they call politicians "spin doctors".

i ought to have a tendency to trust that gas pricing is tied to politics; yet actually because it really is what i trust, no longer because i comprehend it to be a reality. Cheney and Bush both have close ties to gas. to say the cost is pushed via different countries ought to nicely be so yet bear in mind - if we enable those countries to up their value for gas we may be able to also up our value. bear in mind even as Bush extra the tax onto lumber getting into united statesa. from Canada? Don’t you imagine that stronger his stocks in American lumber? i imagine you're actual; after we get on the fringe of creating election judgements issues that are significant seem to unexpectedly get more effective. Politicians seem to imagine we are ignorant and extremely manipulated – and obviously we are – WE TOO regularly positioned the incorrect human being IN place of work!

I thought i was the only one that noticed the more terrorist we catch the lower the gas price mmmmm makes you think gas prices are high cuz they didn't have control of the oil now the more controll of the oil the lower the gas price. Which means the basis for the war all along was not because we were attacked but because it gave us an excuse to get the oil with out the American public paying attention to it because of american pride in the towers.

Blame big oil. And hey, here's a awesome fact. The united states has more oil reserves in the ground than anywhere else in the world combined. It's just we can't use it. It had turned to oil shale and the shell company is looking for ways of unlocking these great oil fields. I believe it is in colorado. Look it up.

People ARE STUPID. they just keep electing the same idiots into office that do exactly what your talking about everytime the elections come up. And the people they elect KNOW the same idiots that voted for them 2 or 4 years ago, will vote for them again. Just look at some of the answers above and nothing more has to be said.

Its to bad that that the current violence in Iraq is sectarian, and the violence from al-quida is estimated at 5%.

It wont happen until after our electoins, that this administration will admit that civil war in Iraq is the reality of the situation.

Well, world events also affect the stock market too. Is there a controversy with that as well? I also don't consider 15 cents a drastic decrease in gasoline prices...
