I am a Catholic.
I am a Republican.
I agree with YOU!!!!!
I do not feel it is right for the priest to "get away" with those crimes. They ARE crimes. They should be treated NO different than any other person who commits these sex acts against children.
It is sick and they need help, just like everyone else.
They should be jailed for these sex acts, just like everyone else.
They should pay for their crimes, like everyone else.
After all, just b/c they are priests, they are still like everyone else.
TY for this opportuunity to defend myself, a Republican AND a Catholic! Have a great night!
I am not LIKE EVERYONE ELSE!!!!!

That is one of the most insane things I have ever heard! Where do you get this wealth of information from? And why should priests get finger printed? Should a cashier in a store get finger printed? They are around kids all day long. Life guards? Around kids. Finger print 'em? Waiters? People that work in McDonald's? That playground pulls in kids like a magnet! Finger print the SOB's!! Some priests most certainly do molest kids, and so do people from all walks of life. When a priest does it, it just gets a lot of media attention as compared to your average chicken hawk. And I highly doubt the figures you use - prove it and name your source. And for the record I'm a registered republican and I don't defend anybody that molests kids. THAT'S A FACT!!!

Nationally, according to the FBI uniformed Crime Report, it works out that about 1 in 100 Catholic priests abused children. That is roughly the same percentage of the general population. I have known roughly one hundred Catholic priests in my life and 99 of them were decent, holy, God-fearing men. And yes, one was a molester. The problem the Church had was treating the scandal as an issue of sin, rather than an issue of law. If there is an allegation, law enforcement should be informed and take the investigation from there. Let the guilty be punished, yes, but let's not throw the priesthood under bus. May God bless our good priests and their ministry.

hmmm, i question your statistics; the priest scandal was only recently, and priests have been around for thousands of years. also, i am a republican who obviously has a problem with the molestations, and know many others who do too, so once again check your facts. what you are saying would be like me saying that much more children are molested by democratic homeles people who sleep on the streets, get money from the government, take drugs, and rape women than republicans.

What I find ironically sad is how they've managed to wrap themselves in God to win the religious vote. Because of this they're not as likely to knock a specific religion. They simply don't want to lose that vote. The truth is calling yourself a Christian does not make you one.
There are as many Democratic Christians as there are Republican Christians.
Some, though, think electing a so-called 'Christian' is the moral thing to do. However, there is little moral about twisting the truth, outright lying or slandering the opposition to get elected.
Democrats are guilty of this, too, but Republicans seem to want to sweep their dirty laundry under the carpet.
Here is a list of some Republicans who didn't get away with it:
*Republican anti-abortion activist Howard Scott Heldreth is a
convicted child rapist in Florida.
* Republican County Commissioner David Swartz pleaded guilty to molesting two girls under the age of 11 and was sentenced to 8 years in prison.
* Republican judge Mark Pazuhanich pleaded no contest to fondling a 10-year old girl and was sentenced to 10 years probation.
* Republican anti-abortion activist Nicholas Morency pleaded guilty to possessing child pornography on his computer and offering a bounty to anybody who murders an abortion doctor.
* Republican legislator Edison Misla Aldarondo was sentenced to 10 years in prison for raping his daughter between the ages of 9 and 17.
* Republican Mayor Philip Giordano is serving a 37-year sentence in federal prison for sexually abusing 8- and 10-year old girls.
* Republican campaign consultant Tom Shortridge was sentenced to three years probation for taking nude photographs of a 15-year.
Like I said, Democrats are guilty, too. But what's funny is you'll never hear of a Republican condemming their own.

I don't like to call people a liar, but in this case you are gravely mistaken. I would like you to produce your source for this load of dung. Why would anyone protect a priest that molests a child? I heard some crazy things out of people on here, but this takes the cake. God help you, you need it.

Got news for ya: more teachers per capita in public schools are guilty of sexual misconduct with their students than any priests of any denomination. And who is the biggest cheeleader of the public school system? Liberals and the democratic party.

i am a republican, raised democrat .. with all honesty raised with collectible plates of JFK on my walls.. and of lil bobby too... reared on the knees of my grandpa who taught me about a different democrat party.. tales of FDR .. and so forth.. i switched because of what my family taught me the Dem's stood for.. they don't so much anymore..
and as a republican i say this.. any priest preacher parent or adult that knowingly molestes children.. or judges and politicians that protect them once they are proven without a shadow of doubt guilty should be hanged by the neck until dead for the community and world to see and swing until the sun goes down on the courthouse lawn...

Can you offer specific examples with links?
If not, this is just a mean spirited, unfounded attack. Typical from a liberal mind set, after all, facts arent important to liberals. Niether is patriotism.
