I have this friend that im pretty close to. For her birtday I bought her an hour massage & took her out to dinner which was also fairly expensive. Well today is my birthday...well at least for another hour & 40 minutes anyway. {{25}} And she hasnt even called me. she logged onto myspace & didnt even send a HPPY BIRTHDAY message??? So do I have a right to be upset. Im pretty bothered by it.

I would be TOTALLY upset. You did a sweet thing for your friend and now she has completely ditched you on your day. I'm so sorry!! Hope it all wasn't a total loss!

Yes, you have every right to be upset. Maybe she was busy and forgot though, try calling her and asking what's up. Forgetting seems really insensitive, but it can happen to the closest of friends. I can never remember whether my mom's is on the thirteenth or the seventeenth! XD terrible, I know. But usually she says "Wow, just three more days!" or something like that, so I don't miss it. If you don't want to tell her straight out, try just saying "Look what I GOT for my BIRTHDAY which was YESTERDAY!! Isn't it so FABULOUS???" She will probably apologize and it will all end well. And hopefully you get some cashmonies!! heehee. Sorry about what happened. Have a happy hour and a half!

No. Having friends, even rude ones, is more important than getting mad at them and loosing them. Friends are rare, hold on tight to them. There will be days when your friend is perfect to you. That will make up for the days when mistakes are made. Perhaps they have big problems at school, work, family and do not even realize it is your birthday. Or perhaps they are financially broke.
PS Happy birthday from all of us at Yahoo Answers.
25? May you live to 120. There is a LOT of things out there to see and experience.

Yes U do, but don't cal her to remind her about it being ur b-day. Maybe she has a surprise planned, maybe she wants u to think she forgot. But if thats not the case then u should say something about it like n a few days.
Real friends shouldb't forget friends day of birth, she should have at least sent ur a b-day message.
If she say anything later this week then ask her why didn't she say anything about ur b-day n ur birthday

Definitely you do have a right to be pissed. I would be too. Sadly this has happened to me a few times. Some people are just a bit more thoughtful than others I guess. Try and be the bigger person I guess and just ignore it....maybe not hang out with her as much anymore.
oh and Happy Birthday! ;)

To be honest I would be upset. Is this a "more than friend" situation.... sounds like it may be though I could be reading more into this than possible.
I would definatly take it as a sign to see whats up... do you think something happened to this friend? Emergency? Find out before you get upset.
and Happy Birthday btw!

*NOISEMAKER SOUNDS*HAPPY BIRTHDAY MANDEE!!!!!! *CONFETTI FLIES AROUND*
That sounds like one of my friends actually....you sure as hell have a right to be mad. Maybe you should call her and be like, "Do you know what day it is" lol, maybe she had a lot on her mind? Maybe she was really busy? Do you constantly always give more than you get in the friendship? Is she always like this? Maybe it just wasn't on her mind...talk to her about it, but that would piss me off. And if she's always this insensitive (for lack of a better word) when it comes to you, maybe you should reexamine the friendship. Good luck!
But besides that, I hope you had a Happy Birthday!

Maybe she feels like she has to "pay you back" as far as a gift goes, and is afraid to touch base with you because she doesn't have the money. Otherwise, it is insensitive. You have the right to be upset, but if she is a good friend try to give her the benefit of the doubt.

Bit early to be upset. Maybe she has other stuff going on today and she just forgot. If you haven't heard from her in a day or two just speak to her and say "hey, you know what day the other day was"? Keep it light. She will probably be embarrassed that she forgot and do something really special.
