He is absolutely the poster child for megalomaniac of the month.
Anytime a state leader stands up and states that he is going to practice genocide on another country, well come on, does anyone think that is rational behavior.

I hope to see more and more nations stand up against bullies like US, and I'm proud of him. I am old enough to remember how the CIA brought down Mossadegh's very popular and democratically elected government in the early 50s. Anyone leader who doesn't play yes boy to US interests is a terrorist and evil. It seems that thank God the days of bullying are coming to an end, though huge sacrifices are being made by people of the world...Mr. Ahmadinejad isn't just for Iran but for all who want liberation from the oppressors gang led by US including the conned American public!

Ahmadinejad understands international politics much more than the whole of Bush Administration do. See, how he is carrying out his goals under all these stresses and Bush Administration with all its military and economic weights can do nothing but watching and making noises. They are not even sure if they can impose successful embargo against Iran because of its two important allies, Russia and China. Military invention in Iran will be another disaster. Much greater than Iraq. Because, unlike Iraq, Iran has a better navy and it can effectively lay mine the Persian Gulf at the narrow Straight of Hormuz and stop the majority of World’s Oil supply. Even now, just the rumors for Iranian embargo is getting the Oil prices sore up. Think of almost half of the world oil production can be blocked by Iran if there is a war for at least a period, if not for prolonged period.
It will also ruin any diplomatic credibility US has at this moment (already it has a very little) among the oil rich Middle Eastern countries. Public opinion is greatly against the US. And at this moment, many rulers (including Saudi Arabia) are supporting US against their public will. Even with a little increase in anti US feeling within the people, the rulers may have to find themselves take some actions against US interests. It will not be military actions. There are other sorts of actions possible. For example, most of the oil moneys are invested in US. Taking them out to other countries like Europe, Asian tigers, or even India may hurt US economic stability. Then, it will have to pay the increased fuel price, but the additional money, which is now coming back to US in the form of Investments, will go somewhere else. Or think of the Middle Eastern airlines purchasing Airbus instead of Boeing. Arab countries have a lot of money invested in US markets. Taking these investments back from US, will create some of the blackest days in country’s share markets. And, some serious unemployment problems.
The raising public opinion is a serious threat to the present monarchs. They may have to introduce some sort of democracy in their countries. And with the public opinion against US, surely some Hamas or Hizbullah type political party will come to power and take the economic actions against US. Hamas cannot do it because Palestine do not have funds. But surely anybody coming to the power of Saudi Arabia, UAE, or Kuwait can take these actions.
Ahmadinejad understands all this. He can think with his logic, not with his emotions. He is benefiting US policy of diehard support to Israel. And using force to Iraq and Afghanistan. The only way to stop him (Ahmadinejad) is making his own people (Iranian people) understand that Nuclear Power is not necessary for their protection. But threatening with economic embargo or military intervention will not help. Like Americans, they (Iranians) are also willing to sacrifice for their own safety. They have seen how US led coalition bombed Afghanistan and Iraq (both are Iran’s neighbor) and will take Nuclear Bomb as their passport to survival.
The path Bush Administration is taking is actually taking Muslim community away from US. However, the monarchs and rulers are with US. So there is no real way these people can express their dissatisfactions. Against their rulers. Against Israel’s killing of Palestine people. Against US unconditional support to Israel and the Monarchies. Yes. One of reasons Muslims hate US is they are harboring the autocratic and corrupt rulers and preventing true democratic movements. It is not Afghan or Iraqi model democracy. Rather a true and free democracy where they can choose the people they like. These things are happening not just now or after 9/11. It is happening for years. That’s why they (Middle Eastern Muslims) are joining extremist groups. But introducing democracy to these countries in current situation will only bring Hamas like parties into power. This is not in favor to US interest too. The only way US should act is, reducing its relationship with Israel and assure the Muslim community, which is almost impossible considering present situation. Only then a democratic government will also be in favor of US too.
The second world war have changed the world and made US in the center of world power. However, a war with Iran may change the scenario and downgrade its role as it is. It may not happen. But there is a chance. Question is, is US, I mean the people, are ready to take the risk.
And thus, unlike Bush Administration, Ahmadinejad is much more intelligent and can foresees what risks he and his country is taking. US risks are much higher than his.

I think he is going to start World War III. He doesn't back down to the "bullies" but he is not really a diplomat as much as an arrogant guy.

I'm quite impressed with him.
Not that I like the guy or what he's doing or what he stands for- but he's certainly much shrewder with international politics than Bush.
