Why wait? Go to the dentist NOW and ask him to remove all your teeth so you never have to clean them again. And while you're at it, you can get some foul smelling liquid and use it as mouth wash, so your breath can stink from day one. Go for it girl, you don't have to conform to any norms. What a way to get noticed. No teeth, breath stinks, whatever you do, don't ever brush your hair or have a shower again either. Make a statement that can be sensed rather than heard.

It seems to me you have not yet experienced a real toothache. I have been to the hospital for toothaches. The last one I had pulled cost me $240.00 excluding the exam. He gave me such an awesome deal. Everyone else wanted 350- 400 ( it was a broken tooth) How many teeth do you have? Have you checked the price on dentures or do you plan to gum your food to death? Just wait, the sharp food is really fun when it stabs you. Are you ready to cry? Because you will. If you admire your Dad so much, ask him what he thinks. I sure wish my mother had cared enough to tell me everyday when I was 16 to brush my teeth. You are blessed to have a mother like that! I know 16 is a hard age to be, I know you want Independence, but I had it. I moved out at 15, my mother moved overseas when I was 16. I quit school and starved. Now I'm 29 with no education, and no money for when I get a toothache. Why didn't I listen to my mom? I was young, naive and thought I knew everything. Don't make the mistakes I did. I put myself and everyone around me through hell. Please do yourself a favor and listen to your mom!

Well, assuming this is a legit question and not somebody just killing time, I think you're making to big a deal out of brushing your teeth. Just do it for crying out loud! It's take all of two minutes! Plus, if you don't brush your teeth it's not just your teeth you have to worry about. You can get gingivitis and all types of pain and infections in your mouth if you don't brush your teeth! Your mother is just trying to make sure you are healthy. She's not doing it just to tell you what to do. And just like some of the other people have said, if you live in mom's house, you live by mom's rules. Even if you have a job, I'm sure that your mom pays for 99% of your clothes, food, car, lodging etc, so guess what, she has the right to tell you what to do kid. Not to mention, have you ever tried to kiss somebody while being the one to have breath that could drop a rhino from twenty yards? You're going to have breath that smells like a dumpster! Geez.
Now, if this is just a question from somebody killing time, all I have to say is get a life.

I guess you don't realize how painful a tooth ache can be. If you are acting this way then your Mom has every right to act the way she does. If you can't look out for your own best interest then you should thank the Good Lord that your Mom cares enough to say something. You can start making your own decisions about your own life when you are mature enough and right now it sounds like you aren't. Grow up and take responsibility for yourself.

Just about everyone answering this is right on the money. Take care of yourself, including your teeth! The remaining two years of your minority will pass fast enough, and then you get to fend for yourself. By the way, it is not too early to think about how you are going to do so.

This is a joke, right?
If it is true...my husband's mother still tries to tell us what to do...ie don't forget to lock your doors or shovel the snow~you could get sued if someone slips on the ice...(Really?!? How'd we make it to nearly 50 and not sort that one out?!? LOL). It may never end and you'll need to learn to tune it out or avoid her.
As to the teeth (and this is why I am sure this is a joke), do you have any idea what a pain it is to not have teeth? ; )

Mothers, most of them if not all of them, tend to be sensitive and worry about their children. Especially if they still hold on those 'classic' standards of personal hygiene and beauty... you know pearly white teeth, silk smooth skin.... but basically, it always for your own good sake if they nag you around.
If you really want to look like your dad, why don't you tell her so?

You have two more years before you can practice poor dental hygeine. Enjoy it while you can. Having your teeth rot out of your head is not only disgusting, but extremely painful.
Also, start saving now for the dental costs. They don't pull nasty teeth for free.

You can't make your own decisions til you're 18. Then you can decide to get you disrespectful toothless asss out on the street.
