What are some good sites to look at that give info that I should study before getting my learners permit?

I would just go to the testing site and get a book there. Also, when I got my permit, I made flash cards with all the street signs and stuff like that and studied it with my sister....in fact we both did it that way and we both passed the permit and driving test the first try...Hope I helped, see ya

South Carolina's Dept of Motor Vehicles web site...or go to SCDMV and get a booklet.

depends, the best thing to do is to go to the dmv and get a drivers training handbook and study it. ever single question will be addressed in that book. but if you really must look online, i believe you can go to dmv.(name/abbreviation of state you live in).gov and find useful information there.
