There are air freshners that you can put next to the furnace filter. They are designed for that purpose. When the air turns on it blows the smell throughout the house. You can purchase them at Walmart and they are inexpensive.

Buy a lot of baking soda, you can use it on everything to clean with. Leave an open box in every room and open-up windows. If you like the smell of coffee, you can put a little in every room. It does not rid you of the problem,it just smells good.

Good tenants are worth the smell.

hmmm, it would appear that there's a lot of working out going on there. on a serious note... i am an aroma-phoebe. i know that there's another distinctive word for it, but i'm smart enough to admit that i don't know what it is. anyway, smells, room odors, other people odors have an effect on my response to the environment, and it sounds like you are experiencing a similar response. let them stink. if they are good tenants and good people, let them smell as they do. you don't have to live with them. we all have our "aromas". (on an aside note, several years ago i relocated to a new apartment- new for me- and had trouble dealing with the whole home smell thing. the place smelled of cooked corned beef. it took me awhile to knock that scent out of existence, but i persevered. and i like corned beef!! unlike locker room..!) good luck in your future endeavores!!

Spray vinegar around the room; Put vinegar in your steam cleaner with its detergent. Clean cabinet and appliances also floors with vinegar... I hope you will be odor free from your rental house...

They need to clean house. Or you need to replace the carpet (tile or faux wood floors are awesome) and get the air vents cleaned.
