Im urging you to simply be reasonable with your answers here, i dont want a blind bash fest, because if you do, you are just as bad as the scene kids you hate. ok...i, for one enjoy the music genre "emo", the quotations because i find it almost impossible to classify music anymore. my favorites include thursday, bayside, and bright eyes. when im depressed or angry about something, that stuff calms me down and is an outlet for me. but im getting tired of people taking wild swings at it with their eyes closed just because they hate the scene/ i as well disapprove of the "scene" kids, not emo kids. you see, its not the people who have real problems you hate, its the people who dress the part. now, problems are both outside and also mental mind you. so just lighten up with your pre-determined judgements of the genre, because its the "scene" that you hate, not the music. i find that the music explores feelings that arent normally discussed and are quite deep, so...what do you think

I think music has feeling into it
and i think emo is suppossed to be felt..well now a new clothing style is attached to the emo which mostly is suppose to be metaphorical..for example having hair in ur face is like hiding from the world or whatever..and now people forgot the meaning and just like the look.
People REALLY like Titles
they like to say Im a Doctor
Im a Wife/Husband
Im a King
Im a player
Im an Emo
People like titles no matter what they are( sumtimes) as long as they have one. I think emo is real. like as in feeling and music.I think the music is good. As much as we think inside THey are fakers, posers and so on for any sterotype actually, we really have a title ourselves too. is anyone really exempt? I dont think so. i myself get a little irked when sum1 wants to change their style to emo and get t shirts that says "EMO" on it.. because its popular now but what can we do? probably a new fad will come into the world and all the ones who follow trends will follow and all the ones who feel emo will continue to feel it and/or listen to the music.

Forgive me if I am bashing, but it sounds like the record companies are just looking for a new way to market what was once called punk rock. I think when Chuck Berry invented Rock and Roll he didn't have Emo in mind. Then again, how could he? I don't like music styles that feed an obsession with being an "outsider". It seems to me if you make music that makes people feel good, your career will last longer.

I sooo agree w. you.! I love emo music & its basically what I listen to but I'm not emo at all. Tho I think emo people are cool haha. Its annoying how people hate really good music b.c they think scene kids are lame. Emo music has some of the best lyrics ever written!!! =)

I think emo is okay it's just like anything else, and I hate people that put down "emoo" kids. As for the music I know what you mean, it's what keeps me a;ive. I wish you the best of luck!!!

when you grow up you will understand that that music that you think makes you feel better is actually part of the reason you don't feel as good as you could.
that said as far as i'm concerned listen to what you want. why should i care? ask someone what self absorbed means. or go downtown and look at the losers on the corner, they were that way at your age. then get away from your friends for a week and think of what you really want to do with your life.

I also enjoy emo music. It's a great genre and I like a lot of emo bands. The people don't bother me, and I'm not going to put them down.

well i love emo music fall out boy my chemical romance and stuff like that I'm emo kinda and i don't think i could live with that music because it's me you know it makes me feel at home and i sick of people thinking that emo is the worst thing in the world. i know people that think emo means slitting your wrist and wear black everthing and tight pants. it not and i hate when people say that

HA! I had the same problem when I was in highschool! There wasn't "emo" back then....I'm a little older,and maybe out of touch...but I'm STILL a headbanger!

i luv emo music and i agree it is pretty tough to classify music i cant even label my style and im glad i dont like bein labeled......anyways
