There are two kinds. If you are removing the entire larynx then it is a Total Laryngectomy (TL). However, there is also a surgical procedure that is known as the Supracricoid Partial Laryngectomy (SCPL).

laryngectomy... ectomy always meand the removal of... just like tonsilECTOMY... or hysterECTOMY... hope this helps
