I am superstitious and don't buy anything until the baby is viable (about six months). Miscarriage is very common and there's nothing worse than going around telling everyone and buying a bunch of stuff only to have to explain to everyone you lost the baby and stare at a bunch of baby stuff in a nursery. You've got plenty of time - you can start flipping through catalogs and the internet looking at stuff, but don't buy just yet!

I wouldn't start getting baby things until at least 4 months along. Trust me... I got stuff early on and all it has done is sit there and sit there and its a big pain in the rear end... I have all this baby stuff with no baby yet (I am 7 months pregnant currently). It gets in the way and takes up space. Nine months from now is a still a long time away. At least wait until you know the gender (if you want to find out). If you dont want to find out the gender, wait until four to five months anyway. Good luck

I would suggest waiting to see if you are pregnant for sure, and even still waiting until after being at least 12 weeks along. Having suffered a miscarriage before, I know that it hurt every time I saw something related to the baby and I had wished I waited until after that time period. Not to suggest that anything will happen if you are pregnant, I just know how badly it hurt, and I wouldn't wish that same pain on anyone else.
Baby dust vibes to you!!! I am crossing my fingers that you get a positive test and a happy, healthy 9 months! :)

well dont buy anything until you know for sure that you are pregnant, you dont want to give your hopes up! i would also wait until the first trimester when they say it is "safe".
my fiances aunt fell pregnant with her first and had a miscarriage at about 10 weeks and she had bought quite a few baby things because she was so excited she was so heart brken and now she can not have babies and she gave her baby stuff aaway!
not saying this will happen to u but wait until u knw for sure.
good luck if positive congratulations

I would wait until after the first trimester. I was pregnant and waited to buy things. I had a miscarriage near the end of the first trimester. If that were to happen, having already done so much to prepare for a baby will just make it more difficult for you. Good luck!!!!

I would at least wait until I was 100% sure. However if you're planning on having a baby and working on it then I don't see any harm in getting everything together. Sooner or later you'll get pregnant if you're trying so if you find stuff you like...might as well! Good luck!

Call me superstitious but I'm not getting anything until i'm really close to my due date for the simple fact that you never know what will happen.
for me, I would hate to have something go wrong and then have to get rid of all the baby stuff too... :(
I would wait untll you know you're pregnant at least.

All I can say from experience is don't jump the gun until you know for sure. Nothing is worse then the disappointment you get when you find out you aren't pregnant.

if you have the money...and the room or a storage unit..that would be so great if you could... you would not believe how much that will help you in the long run... save the receipts and keep everything in the box... i would not move anything around yet...just in case your not pregnant yet you will need the room for your self...
