I've been married for almost 10 years and I still keep in contact with a couple of old FRIENDs... just wondering how many other people do the same.

I'm not married, but still chat over the phone with old boyfriends going back 10 - 20 years!
Just because its over doesn't mean that you can't be good friends.

I don't but I could in a second. I have an ex who wrote to me after I got married to tell me he wished he would've acted on his true feelings for me when we dated - but he is 15 yrs older then me (I'm 28) and at the time we dated I was only 21 and he was 36. So we just were together for the sex. Anyway, I could call him day or night and he would want to talk. But I don't because my husband would hate that.

I only talk to my ex bf when he and his wife happen to come for a visit here in the state where I live, and that's seldom... (they live in a different state) and he gives me and my hubby a call to go join him and his wife on a night out in town. We are all friends and my husband knew him when my ex and I were still together. Other than that, I don't speak to him on a regular basis.

My 1st husband & I still meet for lunch about once every year or two. I am HAPPILY married & we both know that just because a person didn't turn out to be your "happily ever after" does NOT mean that you cannot be friends.
No problem if everyone is open, honest & secure :)

I have to keep in contact with my x husband for the sake of my kids but thats as far as it goes..

I do have a really good friend that i dated yearssss ago that we do the occassional check up on each other but we've known each other for years since i was 15 and he was 17 and have kept in contact through the years here and there, but we are both married now, and theres no threat on either side.. to either of our marriages..and my husband reads the emails that i send and that he sends me so its not like its secretive and he's not threatened by him in anyway

I do have a friend that i care about but he was for lack of better words obsessed with me and wanting to try and get me to leave my now husband and go be with him.. he was one of my best friends.. but.. because he couldnt detach to just being just friends, i had to seperate from speaking with him, as he was trying to damage to my marriage, and i believe in protecting ur marriage from all outside negative influences..

I am not married; but you should not tread where you used to. It is dangerous and you are opening your heart to past experiences and hurts/pains. You may not realize this, but although you might never re-hook-up with past flames, the mere reason you still contact your past 'friends' can be seen as an emotional betrayal on your part. You hubby should be the only best/friend and lover you should have...trust me; it will strengthen your relationship forever
