Sounds odd, because coffee cups usually do not end up in the oven. You do not mention whether the cup is glass or ceramic. Pyrex is the big name in oven proof glassware with Anchor Hocking and CorningWare also providing products in ceramic. All three usually mark their procucts with their name.

USA pottery could be McCoy or American. Just to be sure, I Googled it and the majority of the answers say McCoy.
