Maybe you did not burn it in the right format. DVD players have their format specified according to the region they were distributed, if you burned a + DVD, and your player plays -, it wont work.

It depends on whether or not your DVD player has the capability of playing burned DVDs or not. It would probably specify if it plays DVD-RW format or not. Older players and some of the really cheap DVD players sometime won't play burned ones, so that may be where you're running into your problem.

I would say either the DVD is protected or you need a DVD decoder.

Was it finalized on the burner? If not, it's not gonna play.
