Only Mets, Yankees and Oakland have the magic number. Even Tigers don't have it.

The Magic Number is the Elimination Number of the second-place team. Once the second-place team's Elimination Number is 0, the first-place team then clinch the division and move on to the playoffs. The Elimination Number for any team is determined by adding their number of losses to the number of wins for the team leading the division, and subtracting that total from 163.

All division leaders will have a magic number. The magic number goes down with every win by the first place team and every lose by the second place team. When it reaches zero, the first place team clinches the division.

Magic number is just how many more games those teams need to win to secure themselves the division. Those teams have it because they have a pretty comfortable lead in their division, Tigers are almost there but White Sox and Twins are within 5 and 6 games.

Actually, all teams have a magic number. It is the number of wins + opponent losses that will clinch a title for them.
