are really stupid question I gets tons of answers but if I ask a thought-provoking question with a little meaning, it goes virtually untouched. Could it be the category?

Because people don't like to think! Asking a stupid question you get stupid answers, you don't have to think them through.

Because the stupid questions require no thought and are an easy 2 points but the thought provoking ones require people to actually think and give a reasonable answer.

First of all, what the heck is a semi-girlfriend? That sounds too much like a game to me. Next time you go in for a kiss (if there is a next time) if she turns away I would ask her why if she wants you to kiss her so bad she keeps turning away from you. I would tell her quite bluntly that you have been trying to kiss her and tell her how her turning away from you makes you feel. I'm sure it has made you feel very confused. I know it would make me feel confused. How long have you two been 'semi' boyfriend and girlfriend? Sorry to say, but in my opinion it might be time to let her know you want more (if that is what you want) or that you are going to move on.

I am convinced that most people on here can't give legitimate answers to thought provoking questions. That would mean using too much brain power, which the majority here don't have, since most people here are either too young to understand deep thoughy, too drunk to understand deep thought or just too stupid to understand deep thought.

Could be the crowd. You get a different type of crowd at certain times of the day, and it being a holiday weekend, you're bound to get very few thought-provoked answers.

People don't want to answer questions that matter, only stupid ones most of the time. I like answering both.

Some thoughts are not easily provoked.
And, it's WWWAAAAYYYY too easy to come up with a smart-*** answer than it is to sit and think.

Because the ppl care about points, so they post any answer to any stupid question to get 2 points quickly.

Good luck.

hmm maybe stupid questions are easiler to answer
but thought-provoking questions need time and thinking and a lot of people just don't answer the question

Cause they don't require much thinking. I asked "Quick! Does your house have stairs?" and I got 61 answers. I asked another question on how to keep my metabolism steady (something that has meaning) and only got 3 answers.
