Finally! A sensible question! You would need a few mate, not all zombies would be at the same level of decomp, so a sharp object might dessicate your older ones, but won't necessarilly affect the freshly dead. Hmmm, I would have to get some stockmen, or cowboys to round them up,and cage them, you can't kill whats already dead.I hope I have helped. Has there been a recent outbreak of zombies in your neighborhood? We have a leprechaun epidemic, little Irish fellows whose limbs keep falling off. Should have checked the spelling on the contract! It definitly said "Leper"-chaun.

I have watched almost all zombie movies and placed all most all zombie games especially ALL Resident Evil Games here is my take on it.
I would have a 357 magnum for range shots and I would have a machete melee. I would try to hide in a big mall because in the mall you may be able to find more ammo, other weapon choices, clothes if needed, a place to camp in the furniture store, and of course food.

Hopefully they are the slow Zombies such as from "Night of the Living Dead" and not the fast ones from the recently remade "Dawn of the Dead."
Weapon of Choice: 240 machine gun with plenty of 7.62 ball ammunition, at the top of a tower with a sniper scope.
I'd want a 45 with hollow points as a side arm, just in case someone got too close and a hand held pick axe for those "really close, unexpected, oh crap the weapon has jammed" moments.
For a place to be safe and secure for rest and planning. I think the inside a bunker, plenty of food, water and ammunition, and friends to help fight the infestation with (ideally) of course.

hmmm....zombies......let me think
Clubs always work great against zombies.....soemthing about knocking their body parts off their torso.
But then, Night of the Living Dead teaches us that American made rifles are a truely great weapon to have against a zombie....allthough I can not see this weapon being used against a skeleton or a very very thin and dried up zombie.
Fire's not a great weapon against them....since they are all ready dead, if you don't seperate the head from the body they will just continue to advance and spread fire across the town...although, fire is great to end the zombies rampage once they are stationary.
bow and arrows, do nothing
and I hear magic spells of physical possession do the trick...but one really has to be a master zen guru buddhist ninja voudoun to really be effective.
I say clubs, beat those baby seals unconscious and then burn 'em and let the fire eat them alive.
HIDE? umm where ya' gonna' hide if Zombies attack? maybe in the treetops....oooh oooh we could make a civilization about treetop houses and walk from tree to tree as if we didn't have a care in the world.....wait, that's all ready been done, hasn't it. Nope...no where to hide.

I don't have a gun or a flame thrower or a chainsaw... I have two swords though, so I guess my swords(a katana which needs to be sharpened and a north african one). As for where to hide, I'd go somewhere were there are a lot of people. Someone's bound to know what to do or have a good idea. NYC ideally, but I don't live in NY or NJ. So maybe my school, or the grocery store. Both have food and locks on doors and windows and lots of people.

Definitely the shotgun. Although there is a tree trimming tool that is basically like a chainsaw on a 10 foot pole. That would have some real uses.
I would just fortify my home and farm. That way I could live a normal life when I wasn't busy taking out the zombies.

I would say single barrel shotgun, but I need to learn how to use one before there is an outbreak of zombies. If I could get it, I'd also use my uncle's AR-15, I've used that before, and the kick isn't too bad, but you'd need to be stationary to use it.
I think I'd either board myself up in my house, or a large building with easy roof access, or a large restaurant. I'd have to gather my family together first, though, so we could make a stand together.

Apparently I'm not the only one who thinks about zombies invading on a daily basis. I'd have to choose as weapons a chainsaw for close quarters, an assault rifle for medium range, and a sniper rifle with a high powered scope for long distance shots, and to watch their heads explode....
I'd probably stay in my house....It's nice and a few floors above the ground.

Weapon: Shotgun and a Halberd
Hide?: I would probably hide out in my house on the top floor where I could clearly see anything trying to get up the stairs (which would also be barricaded. Also, I'd drag the fridge up here in case I got the munchies.

because i play D@D and we have run a modern game with this exact scenario......
we had to use ourselves as our character. we had access to anything that was in our house or car.
and a lot of really good ideas came from this game...
first i (as a midevil reinactment buff) put on chain maille armour
and heavy leather over thet on the torso. then i put hockey pads on my legs..for weight reasons.
my weapon would be a european broadsword...able to cut flesh and break bones.,,,secondary was light battle maces...they do not get stuck and are not as heavy as the sword..
then i would look to load my car with any canned food and bottled water that i could and head to my old man's house in the back woods of pennsylvania.. where we have plenty of guns and ammo and the raw materials to reload the ammo. and a 2 year food storage locker and a bomb shelter for a basement...the old man is a former Marine so he likes to be prepaired.
then we just waite, humans that want to join us and can ovver something to the family as a whole are welcome. troublemakers would be shot because they endanger the whole family.
zombies would be shot and burried in deep holes (we have earth moveing equip on the farm) the house and barn are already pretty secure,,, the barn is more secure than the house... and the bobm shelter would be a place to hide out if we got swarmed....
yeah i am a geek and i spend way too much time thinking about stuff like this.
