And what are some of the side effects? I've heard you can get fat taking the birth control pill.

I was on Alesse and it made me depressed and I did gain 20+ pounds (while also intensely working out for a varsity team - so there is no excuse - i wasn't over eating or not excercising). I know 2 other friends who had this same experience on allesse (depression and weight gain), everyone's body reacts differently on different types/doses of pills. I was also on MinOvral which made me break out like mad, so i switched again. Now i'm on OrthoTricyclen, which is good for me (no side effect and it makes me very regular). The shot (depo provara) is known for causing weight gain in most people, but one of my friends actually lost 25 pounds on it. The weight gain is all due to how your body reacts - EVERYONE is different. The only thing I suggest is that if you choose to go with a low dose (ie. allesse, and tricyclenLo) it's only guaranteed highly effective against pregancy if you are a lighter framed person (130 or under), the heavier/tall/bigger you are, the less effective the low doeses will be - so if you aren't so small I would suggest going with a higher dose for the most effectiveness.

I took Yasmin before, and it was ok, but now I'm on loestin 24 (you only have a period for 3 days!!!! and it has the lowest amount of hormones allowed by the FDA. That means that there are basically the smallest chances for side effects.) I have been on it for 4 months and have had no problems at all (and I have a VERY sensitive system.) It is amazing, I would def. recommend it.

A good name is Yasmin...Im on it..I haven't put on any weight. You breasts will most likely get larger. The common myth is putting on weight, but the reality is that alot of it is water retention and an increase in appetite. If you do go on the pill...then just make sure you stay healthy and fit...you should be fine. Talk to your doctor and then see which is the best pill for you.

there isn't necessarily a good brand or best brand of birth control. you have to try different ones to see which is the best for you talk to your doctor and you can figure it out together.

THere is really no good answer for this as we are all so different. WHat may be great for me may not do so good with you. It is important that you talk it over with a Dr. and start there.

Good Luck

That is something that you must talk to your doctor about. Your body is your own body. Your doctor knows best in that situation.

Discuss with a doctor. That way you can weigh out all of your options.

Aspirin......Take the aspirin tablet and hold it between your knees. As long as it is there your will be okay. For no reason should you separate your knees and drop the aspirin. Then you may get pregnant.

Due to sweating you may have to replace the tablet on occasion.
