Doesn't the term 'beginning' already imply the existence of time?

Actually saying there is no time concept in the universe. So there is no beginning of time. But human beings needs some fixed reference to keep track of the changes happening to him and the world around him. So he developed the concept of time based on the movement of celestial bodies such as sun. The movements are the basis of time. So still we are using the atomic movements as the reference of time. For us the time starts at the starting of observable universe.

The term 'time' implies nothing. Kind of like how "The first Special Olympics" doesn't imply that there were special olympics before the first one. It is just a phrasing that most people can understand.

To understand the actual beginning of time, you would have to have one hell of an understanding of the universe. Much more so than most people on YA have.

Thank you, Terrieann, for that wonderful story. There are many others like it.

No, I think that a casual observation of your surroundings demonstrates the existence of time.

I don't think the term 'beginning of time' has any scientific meaning. It is generally applied to the beginning of recorded history.

Hi. In a closed universe (one possibility) the slate of time gets wiped clean every once in a while. Each clean slate is a beginning.
