has anyone heard of the finger test for testing for homosexuality. the test is that for men, if a man's ring finger is shorter than his index finger, then he is straight. but, if his ring finger is longer than his index finger, then he is gay. if they are the same size, then he is bisexual. what i want to know is your orientation, and if the two fingers i mentioned are the same size or different sizes.

i never wanted you to say that it is a myth. just look at your fingers, tell me your orientation, and which finger is longer or if they are the same size goddammit!

Brian, if you are straight as an arrow, then why are you in this section.

That sounds as bad as the tests from back in the middle ages, if the ring finger and index finger were of the same length you were thought to be subject to becoming a werewolf. Physical characteristics have nothing to do with sexuality.

I don't attach a lot of creedence to this hypothesis.
The relationship between relative finger length was first suggested in connection with transexuality, and is supposed to be related to the exposure of the fetus to testorone in the early stages of pregnancy.
For your information my ring fingers are slightly longer than my index and I'm bi (but also a bit transgender).

Yes, I've heard of this.. My index and ring fingers are the same size and I am, indeed, bisexual. Hmmm...
I don't really believe in these things, but I read somewhere that one of these finger traits is a sign of femininity...

Actually, this would explain the caricature gay characters that are always waving their ring fingers around ;D

Pure Bull!
My ring finger is obviously longer than my index finger, and I'm straight as an arrow.
This is part of many never ending attempts to discern sexual orientation via some mythical physical trait.
We will all just have to content ourselves with judging people on their merits and personalities, instead of dancing around on the head of a pin trying to guess who they sleep with.
Let's all get a hobby.

No alchemy is going to make me tell my orientation!! which is gay by the way. and a few leanings towards bi but...hmm...
but seriously
to quote one of my favorite bands, a gay rock band,
"seems so strange that they should care
if you stick a dik up there".
hahaha
if you want to know if a man's gay
ASK HIM you sad, sad person.
my index finger is longer than my ring finger and I am gay. so yeah.

Why are we all dumping on Brian? Is there a "Keep Out" sign on this section for straights? Besides, it was right there in the Cultures & Groups section where I was browsing, and the title was kind of provocative.

And about my fingers? That's just bogus! I suppose you can tell the length of a guy's penis by the size of his nose too, huh?
