You had to download drivers for your speakers? Usually you only have to download drivers for the sound-card itself. Speakers are usually just plug-n-play.

It's hard to tell whether your problem is your sound card, or your speakers. Without more information it's very difficult to give specific advice.

So, generally speaking, check the following:

- If you just added a sound-card to your system (and you had integrated sound before), you have to set a jumper on the motherboard to let it know you are now using a sound-card.

- If your speakers were working before and are no longer working, check to make sure the settings on your speakers are correct. For example, make sure you haven't accidentally "muted" anything (Programs -> Accessories -> Entertainment -> Volume Control).

- Check to make sure you have the right "environment" selected. For example, if you have 2 speakers and a subwoofer, make sure you don't have something like a 7.1 setup selected. (Control Panel -> Sound & Audio Devices -> then under "Speaker Settings" hit the Advanced button).

- Of course, make sure your speakers are plugged into the correct jack (some sound-cards have multiple ports you can plug into).

- And always check to see the speakers are plugged in and turned on (and turned up).

some audio gadget have twin impedance - the two 4 Ohm or 8 Ohm counting on what the amplifier's output impedance is. it would say on the back of the amplifier the place the speaker connections are. If the backside speaker impedance says 8 Ohms - do no longer hook your speaker wires as much as the 4 Ohm connectors of your speaker! You reported there are 2 instruments of two connectors on the back of your speaker. As to you asserting that your speaker made a huge buzz once you hooked it up another "field like holes"... you have got broken the voice coil of your speaker. if it fairly is the case - get new audio gadget. i'm hoping this facilitates....
