Most college football teams are stocked with thugs, idiots, and criminals. Many do not go to class, cheat on exams, and receive carte blanche support from their schools' administrations. As these are the worst offenders, these are the teams for which I will never cheer:
Ohio State
Miami
Florida State
Any SEC school
All PAC-10 schools except the ones in California
Any Big 12 school
As far as schools for whom I will cheer, take schools with stellar academics and who place those academics before football (it is college, after all):
Harvard
Yale
Penn
Dartmouth
Swarthmore (before they dropped football)
Northwestern

I many times cheer for a school I went to, a kin member went to, or the place there is a few sort of connection. in case you propose on college - there is your answer. If a newborn might attend - there is your answer. in any different case, %. a set you like and yell your head off.

Rutgers, my alma mater.
We beat (North) Carolina Saturday, but almost blew it.
And, I'm proud to say, Rutgers was, at one time, the winningest team in college football history (in November of 1869, we beat Princeton in the first intercollegiate game ever played, giving us 1 win, while everyone else had zero wins... But it's pretty much been all down hill from that moment on.).
