PS3. It plays both the games of PS and PS2. But its, of course, more expensive.

If you have the money to spend i would say that you should get a PS3 for sure. It is a better system in every single way compared to the PS2. The PS2 will still have a place after the PS3 comes out, but you will be able to play all old PS2 and PS1 games on the PS3, so in a lot of ways the PS2 will be out-dated in a couple of years. But the PS3 is expensive at 599.00 plus tax so you might want to wait a year or two before buying the PS3 anyways.

U should buy a ps2 since now and days it cost only 50 bucks for a new one. Plus u can afford tons of games since now the best games sell for 2-3 dollars each. But if you have a lot of money then use it on the ps3: DON'T GET THE XBOX 360!

Well the PS3 isn't out yet so if you want one now you have to buy a ps2.
If you can wait and you have a ton of money then get the ps3.
It won't be cheap that's for sure.

you should buy a PS3 because for the first time in gaming history Linux is making it's debue and you can order a PS3 with linux preinstalled onboard. A PS2 will be and has been outdated as soon as you buy... as of now it would be a waste of money concidering if you wanna play PS2 games just buy a PS3 and you can.

The PS2 plays both the PS1 and PS2 games, and it's a worthy system.
The PS3, not even on the market, not anywhere NEAR what the hype has been all about...
I would say, get a PS2, and save your money for the PS4.

if you are on a budget,buy the ps2.if you have lots of cash,buy the ps3.beware the ps3 games can cost up to 100.dollars,ps2 are around 40 down to 10.

If you've never had one, a PS2 for sure. It has many hundreds of games to choose from, including PS1 games, and you can't beat the price. You'll save hundreds of dollars over the PS3, which in my opinion, is going to be a huge failure.
In other words, I'm going to buy a Wii, because it's CHEAP.
