okay everything i date a black dude they always comment on how caramel i am. i'm black. it gets irritating. they say stuff like we would have beautiful children. are they dating me for me or for my skin color? it's like ther first thing they ask me is are you half black half white. does it matter? I noticed a lot of brothers nowadays are more concerned with the phenotype and ethnicity of the lady they are dating and how there is kids will turn out than if they really like them or not.

Let's hope they're as concerned about how the kids will be raised.

Wow...where are you from?!? I've never experienced this from black guys before...and I'll have to agree just a tad bit with one of the white guys up here, it does seem like you have an attitude like, "do I look half white to you?" and seems like if someone says you don't then you'd get upset....hey, that's what I'm getting from you too...but, IF this is happening to you, I think you're trying to play it off, I don't think you're upset because of that...you know what I really think though, I think, you wish some of the black dudes would say you looked anything but black...I'm not trying to be harsh or anything, but that's what I'm getting from your statement! I sense a little insecurity there and if you don't watch out, some dudes will and can read right through you and use that against you to get anything they want from you...be comfortable with yourself first before you date another soul on this planet, otherwise, you'll appear insecure.

What can I say...the stereotype of man survives through all cultures.

Most men will always be concerned with how the woman looks, no matter what their concerns are they want beauty....whatever their conception of beauty is.

Perhaps these fella's are trying to impress their own moms, I say stay away from those types. Impress their church (stay away from those types aswell....spells out for bad mojo if you can't or won't keep up)

If they are more concerned with what their future will hold that what their present consists of...there is a problem there and nit needs to be addressed.

thats wonderful he comments you, but would you really want to date someone who is concerned about their future children's skin color? i swear, some black men say they date out of love but behind closed doors they are worshipping other things like sex, skin color, nationality. They need to get a grip. Find someone who loves all of you: looks, brain, personality, those are what sustains a person. Not skin coloring that we don't even pick out at birth!

I would say there is a definite element of shallowness here. maybe they are just trying to compliment you in a twisted way or something.
The next time a comment on your light skin pops up, tell them firmly thaat you have "some" mixed blood in your background, like every other African American in this country, and don't say anything else. Don't be bashful about using a raised voice or a raised eyebrow...good luck. and if that doesn't work, try to find some nicer guys.

sometimes they do that, the whole skin color thing.
I know its depiction of what is beautiful.
here is some good advice I learned.
A man can be sincere, heck anyone can fake that.
but does he have empathy. If he had empathy, he would understand how that makes you feel.

sincerity is feeling for someone, empathy is feeling what that person feels. SOOOO diffrent.

I knew a woman who said her bf put a hole in the condom to get her pregnant. The worst part is that he has nothing to do with the kid now. He said he thought they'd make pretty babies together. But he doesn't even see his child! Sad.
