What an embarassment. The NBA is supposed to be the best league in the world for basketball. I'm beginning to think that overseas is where the REAL basketball is being played. Individually, sure, they might not be as athletic. But they are smarter, more fundamentally sound, and play as a TEAM, as opposed to US players who rely on one-on-one way too often.

I thought that this US team would finally take care of business, now they will be lucky to win bronze. I am ashamed and disgusted.

Bush's response to Katrina and Iraq, that is what makes me shamed to be an American.

I'm not ashamed of Team USA for winning a bronze medal. I'm ashamed of the arrogant fans that think we can just march a group of players on the court and wipe out the world. Almost 100 of the 450 NBA players are international players. The NBA MVP isn't American. The #1 overall pick isn't American. Accept it. The world can ball. Just b/c a guy is talented doesn't mean he's automatically wants to play in the NBA. It's popular to bash American players for playing for money. They do the same thing in the rest of the world. Guys switch teams for more money. They turn down the opportunity to play in the NBA b/c some team in Russia offers them more. It's not all about the NBA. It's about getting paid. Money talks, and it doesn't matter what part of the world you're in.

Actually a little. For the most part is because the winner of the NBA campionship is called the world champion being that only american team play. If the winner of our tournament is called world chapion we could at least win the basketball world cup and be the true World Champions I am more ashamed because we look even more arrogant to the world then we already do, than by the fact we are not the best

No, I'm just ashamed that they didn't play as a team. Playing as a one man show never gets you anywhere in this sport. I feel sorry for Coach K. He's a good coach and can't believe the players did not take the time to listen to him.

The world has officially caught up. Americans will have to cope with the fact that they will never again dominate basketball as easily as the '92 Dream Team did.

They will win again, but it's no longer guaranteed.

This is about the dumbest question here in weeks. Ashamed because a group of players lost. There are far more important things afoot now. We are in a war we cannot win, North Korea is building WMDs, Iran is following on. Get serious.

OFGS!!! That has to be one of the most pathetic statements I've ever seen! If you're ashamed to be an American because of a damn basketball game, then you had no pride as an American to begin with.

NO....Give the guys a chance. Most teams they are playing have more time together. I'm giving them a chance to prove they are good B-ball players.

Go Guys....don't listen to people like this!
