mine is pretty new, and smells like burning rubber when i use it...i thought it was just the newness and that it would burn off, but it hasn't...thanks anybody. it is an "echo" brand.

The smell of burning rubber is NOT normal... If you bought it at a local store.. go there and find out if you PUT YOURS together right.. I suspect that you did not follow the directions for assembly exactly.

That is definately not normal, espescially because it's new. If you still have the package or instructions, I would look for a number for the manufacturer or just return it where you bought it. I'm a landscaper and constantly encounter problems with gas blowers, but I'm not familiar with this.

Echo is a good brand and the smoky smell is definitely NOT normal. Get it checked before you damage it or yourself.

I use one and yea it stinks, pretty bad but it is better than sweeping it off your sidewalk/driveway
