subjects is 84. What is the lowest grade?

84*(N-1) + G = 82*N

Where N is the number of grades and G is the lowest grade.

You have one equation with two variables. Need another equation to solve it.

The average is total / amount of grades or:
A+X/N+1=82
If we take out the lowest is
A/N=84
So X the lowest grade is X=82-2N
So if the grades were 10 X is X=82-2*9 ; X=64

Assuming that we are grading on a curve, we also don't count the highest score either. However i figure that the low grade would probably be 80 or less.
