There is no definitive answer to your question. A more specific location and the type of marble would help. Prices for both labor and materials are likely to be cheaper in Seattle, WA than they might be in Bend, OR. Marble quarried in Italy or South America is going to be much more expensive than marble quarried in Canada due to transportation costs. Some patterns and colors of marble are extremely expensive.

Best advice is to visit your nearest marble showroom and have them provide you a free estimate based on your blueprints and the type of marble you want.

Good luck with your project.

In Tennessee the going starting price for granite is $45.00 per square foot. You will pay extra for edges that are not standard and undercounter mount sinks. Backspashes are extra, they use to include a basic spash at no extra charge, but I am having trouble finding that anymore.

Most places will bid the job based on a basic drawing. Be sure to make sure the price includes trip fees for measureing/templating. Also be certain you allow extra money for hooking up sinks/dishwashers as most granite companies do not do this.

Tile will install at a cheaper price. Price will be determined by tile and pattern selected. Check Angieslist.com for a list of competent contractors in your area.

Good Luck

If it is JUST the laying.. then it should cost NO MORE than $2.50 a sq ft... and they furnish all except the tile of course.

I was quoted 79.00 a sq. I don't care to strip the land and I don't want plastic so I chose tile.
