it was located in salem va and was called lakeside i went there when i was a young kid in the early 80's they closed due to a flood and lack of funds coming in.

Funny, I've thought a lot about that park lately. I went there with my sixth grade class in 1975 and had a great time. Well, except for when my buddy tried to force me back onto the Shooting Star roller coaster for the second ride. That traumatized me so much that I didn't get on another coaster for 25 years.
I recently learned that my childhood buddy is now working as a nurse and has developed a serious IV drug habit. Strange how life changes from the time you are a kid. I used to think that getting back on that roller coaster was a big deal.
