I want to know what is this reporting thing like and what happens to people - are you suspended from asking questions????????

Most the time when members get a email from yahoo it isn't because someone has reported you by hitting the little button. So many people think that. The main reason people get points removed and a email is because something they have said in a question or in an answer they have given. There are people like the ones that are removing the bad question on this site that also run into bad answers. They are the ones removing and sending the emails. It's a 2 point violation. They also give you the reason why you received then violation. I have had one for saying huh because I didn't understand. Nobody reported me. Yahoo saw it and I got a email. So thinking or worrying that someone is reporting you isn't what people should worry about. Just as long as you play by the rule and aren't rude or nasty mouth you don't have anything to worry about. The abuse button is for helping them but I am sure they look into it. They just don't go oh someone reported someone send them a violation and remove two points. That's not how it works.If you get suspended you can't get into your account and would have to start over again.

you don't want to be reported, they send you an email, and Y!A customer care deletes whatever it was that you posted that wasn't what Yahoo considers "descent"
so yeah, it kinda sucks.... I had a couple questions deleted because I was asking about Edna Bambrick... some people are VERY immature on here, so you might want to watch out on what you write on here..... yeah, that's kinda dumb, but I would never report anybody unless it was something REALLY offensive.... you're not one of them, so your lucky I guess

You just get a notice in your email, then after about 10 to 15 you gat suspended (thats forever)

my daughter got on here in my name and got me reported. they just send you an email and you have time to explain what happened. some people just like to make others have a bad day. if you don't like the question don't answer it. don't worry you don't go to jail.

Yahoo sends you an email and tells you how you violated community guidelines and deletes your answer or question, if you do it enough, they suspend your entire account
