Assuming you've taken one of the more common IQ tests (e.g., Stanford-Binet [newest version], Woodcock-Johnson, or the adult Wescheler), you're average. These scales have an average standard score of 100, with a standard deviation of 15 points. That means that approximately 68% of the individuals taking these tests will score somewhere between 85 - 115 (assuming a normal distribution of scores).

Please remember that an IQ score is not a static measurement (like, say, shoe size). Scores will vary from test to test and from administration to administration. That's why there should be a "Confidence Interval" -- or a score range in which your theoretical "true score" should lie -- should be reported as well.

100 is supposed to be average, but the curve needs re-doing because average is generally around 105 these days.

Still, 108 is nothing to scoff at so fair play to you. I'd say as long as you are above 90, you're probably OK.

And for the record, age and gender has nothing to do with it - men on average tend to have a slightly higher IQ but the difference is slight (108 would still be marginally above average) and age has no bearing as that's taken into account when your score is calculated. If you're 108 now, you'd be 108 (or thereabouts) when you were five and when you are one hundred and five.

Age doesn't matter, nor does sex. The IQ curve is normal, or bell-shaped, with the average and mode at 100. This means that having a 109 IQ is a little above average, so yes, I'd say it's good.

It's above average, which is 100..
It compares well With George Bush's below average of 90.
This means that the mind's of most people in the world work slower than yours.
The problem that it might create is that you could become impatient with other people who do not 'catch on' as quickly as you do, so it's important for you to learn to be tolerant, patient and compassionate with slower minded people.
Good for you. You should be able to learn more quickly than most.
