I'm a bit overwhelmed at this point; high schol starts in under two days and in my usual form, I have nothing prepared.

School supplies: I didn't buy any, I was going to wait until the eachers told us what they required. On the 1st day, what exactly should I bring? Also, I ordered a bookbag online and it won't be here for a week, what I do until then?

My mind: I was planning to sharpen my mind over the summer - you know, read, write, have intellectual conversations..that didn't exactly happen. No, instead, I spend the entirety of my summer pigging out in front of the screen or browsing random forums. I did not gain one IQ point and I did not unleah my creativity. So how do I sharpen my mind over the next two days?

Clothes, appearances. I'm not a fashionable person, more of a loner who's only talkative around close friends and family (but then I'm REALLY) talkative. I don't want to give the impression that I give a damn about fashion, but rather, clean and (SOMEWHAT) edgy. Ideas?

For supplies, just bring a spiral notebook and something to write with.
The teachers will tell you what you need, and give you lot's of handouts.

As for your mind, theres really no need to improve it FOR high school.

Clothes, appearances: I'm not talkative around people i don't know either, but there are a lot of people who are. They'll make themselves known and start conversations with you. So long as you aren't in the back cutting yourself or something.

Okay, first and formost, breathe.

Now that you've got that covered, first day, I'd recommend a folder and a pen or pencil. The only thing you'll be doing first day is getting course syllabi/outlines and filling out forms. Not that exciting. As far as your backpack not being here for a week, probably wasnt the best move, because your teachers might hand out textbooks early. So I'd suggest using last years if you can find it.

As far as school supplies, you'll most likely end up buying a 1" binder for each class. It works the easiest, and most teachers require them anyways.

For sharpening your mind, go over the basics. It sounds stupid, but it's amazing what you forget over the summer. Read a book (for english), a paper (for social studies), and look over your multiplication tables (for math, duh :-P)

Fashion, hmmm, I'd say go with some jeans and a t-shirt. There's a million possibilities, and it isn't flashy, nor piggish.

Hope it helps, and good luck in high school!

I'm a uni student, 3rd year architecture, and trust me... You do not know how lucky you have it. Don't be so shallow. Be true to yourself and have excellent skills in time management. If you want to end up doing your assignment in the last few days, yo uare not going to learn anything in university. High school is about being you. Sure you have the peer pressure but don't let that get to you. In university, all the pains will be gone because you are in control of your life.

Just live life in highschool. Experiment in a good way...(do not ever ever ever!!!!! do drugs, they stop you from being in high ranking jobs) and live in highschool because when you enter university, you are not going to like it. You are going to have strict tutors, teachers, who are not going to let you go with handing assignments late and you need to be in focus.

steps you can fix up on:
1. keep a clean room for that keeps your mind clear.
2. keep away from lazy people who want to use you for your hard efforts.
3. keep fit.
4. eat healthy and avoid the junk food!!!!
5. Have time management. Imagine your project and times the work hours by 3. You adapt that into your time table and you are safe as a duck in a no hunting pond.

You sound like me in highschool. i usualkly brough a notebook pen and pencil on the first day until i was told what i needed. I didnt care about fashion and wore jeans and a nice shirt or a skirt, depending on my mood. Normally the night before I would write ion a journal about my upcoming hopes and fears about the new school year....

same here, really nervous. for supplies, make sure you have paper and pen to take notes, a folder, and a binder if you can. if you have an old bookbag, use it, if not bring any bag i guess. for your mind: you can't, just study hard during the school yr, you had your fun. cloth: i would say just wear what you usually wear, what you like, make sure it's appropriate for school, good luck
