What do you mean REALLY do? Like you think they are doing anything in secret? lol They are flying a mission and have to constantly monitor and check the spacecraft. They usually have dozens of experiments and tests to perform, sometimes satellites to launch or go to the space station with cargo and or supplies and or to effect repairs. There is actually a NASA cable channel where you watch all of this 24/7.
