I have always been a straight-A student. I've only gotten a couple of B+ assignments in my life, and never anything lower than that. I have never had anything lower than an A- on my report card.
I just started high school a couple of weeks ago, and I'm in the most advanced core classes (math, English, history, science). I have to turn in my first English essay on Thursday, and I heard that my teacher is a harsh grader. What will I do if I get a bad grade? I don't know if I'll be able to handle it? I know English is definitely not my favorite class (though they say I'm a good writer). Even so, even a B would make me feel bad. What can I do to prepare myself? What will I do to make myself feel better?

P.S... It's so hard not being best in the class in my favorite & best subject --science.....................

SEE YOU ARE GOOD AT ENGLISH, THANKS FOR THE GREAT DEFINITION.

OH YEAH BY THE WAY THAT "P.S." THAT YOU WROT WAS AN AMAZING DEFINITION OF THE WORD "TEACHER'S PET".

I BET YOU ARE GANNA GO TO YOUR STUPID ENGLISH TEACHER AND BE LIKE "OHH MRS.SO AND SO, I AM SO SORRY, PLEASE I BEG OF YOU MADAM DON'T GIVE ME -A, I SHALL DIE OF MISARY, PLEASE I'VE DO ANYTHING, ANYTHING. CAN I DO EXTRA CRIDT."

HERE IS MY ADVICE "GROW UP, YOU WON'T ALWAYS WIN, THATS LIFE I AM 13 AND I KNOW THAT"

YOUR ARE OFFCIALLY A SPOILED BRAT, BE THANKFULL FOR WHAT YOU HAVE.

Hi there;

First, WTG on all those good grades you have had in the past.
Second, welcome to high school where you will meet teachers who will challenge you to do your level best.
Learning is NOT about A's, B's, or C's. Learning is about growth.
Most of the important lessons you will learn will come from your perceived failures, not from your supposed wins.
In college I have had professors who made me work just as hard as I could. Still I only got B's. I would take that low B over any easy A any day of the week. I learned more about myself and what I could from those teachers. Reach for the challenge and OWN it. Do not fear it. Face it head on with confidence. Place your priority on achievements not on a letter grades. Trust me you will look back on this challenge as a real test and that you came through it well and whole. You will be a real person who knows what is valuable in life. :)
Good luck with your high school career.

You have a champion attitude.Good for you!
Just remember that the best fail from time to time.
It's evident that you give your all when you engage in any activity. That's all that should matter at your age.I can understand the "good enough ain't good enough" attitude, but understand that sometimes you're just not gonna get a hole in one!
Be happy with your current track record, and keep up the great work! Just don't expect to always get the gold.
If you're going to beat yourself up every time you don't outshine the competition....well then you'd better get used to seeing a black eye in the mirror, because the "adult" world is so much more full of opportunity for failure.
I don't imagine that your parents are disappointed in you,or that they would disagree with my opinion on this matter.

do your best, that's all you can do. if you did your best, than don't blame yourself if you didn't get the best grade. after all you do have advance classes and hard teacher. don't freak out, and be prepared though. wish you all the luck.

Calm down.....you might not always be the best in the class, but you can always try your best. If you think you're going to do poorly, then work harder.
