I wouldn't include Godsmack in the genre. They're ok but they're not heavy. I prefer Morbid Angel, Rigor Mortis, Obituary, Sepultura, Malevolent Creation, Deicide, Death, etc...

Check out Amon Amarth or God Dethroned other than that most other bands are just clones of other bands........Death metal form the early 90's still hold up and are much better than most bands today
