At all, or make her wait untill she is older?
How old of guys would you let her go out with?
Would you let her date a freshman college student (just a freshman like eighteen or nineteen)?

No, you people have the wrong idea.
I am 16. I don't think my parents really want me to date though. Just wanted to see what others think. And if you can tell me your reasons?

I do have a 16 year old and it depends on the maturity and responsibility level of the 16 year old and is the 18 or 19 year old a good kid or a felon,a druggie or sexually expecting something. My daughter is a honor roll student and a virgin and chooses to stay that way as long as marriage she says, she had an 18 year old boyfreind who respected her wishes and did not try to get her to drink,do drugs or have sex, they broke up only because we moved, but every circumstance is different!

I would definitely let a 16 year old date guys as long as the guy she is dating seems like a nice guy that wont try to push her to do "you know what". I would let her go out with her own age and maybe a year older, i dont know? It really depends on the guys personality. Even though the guy might be older than ur daughter, he might have a very immature personality. I personally wouldnt let a 16 year old date a 18 or 19 year old. But then again, Its ur own personal decision to let her date older men or not. But, ur daughter might hate ur guts for not letting her date the guy she wants to.

If I had a 16 year old I would let her date. I wouldn't mind her dating guys within a 2-3 year age range of her own age so 18 or 19 would be ok.

At 16 I allowed my daughter to date the boys who were in the same grade as her, but no one who had turned 18. Too much trouble to get into with the older guys, especially ones in college.

If my daughter was 16, I would let her date. But, I would like to meet her boyfriend and would hope that he was either in the same grade or the next one ( like if he was 17). i would not mind at all. I just hope I would have a strong enough bond with my child not to be afraid to talk to me about sex and hope to God that if she was going to have sex, that she would be smart enough to use protection-him a condom and birth control for her. Just to be on the safe side.

good question, I am not so sure, I do have boys, but I think when they are 16 I would prefure that they not date alone, so maybe they could with a responsible adult, but not by themselves....that is what I would do if I had a daughter and I hope to do this with my boys, I want them to be good and respectful to girls.

If you didn't LET her she would do IT anyway. Might as well have a clean clear line of communication.
