I don't think you should buy a car if you do not know what it runs on.

Hydrogen gasoline cellular vehicles are electric powered vehicles, the place the gasoline cellular serves because of the fact the battery. So the hydrogen, electric powered, and battery vehicles are all electric powered vehicles, mutually as the gasoline and diesel vehicles are petroleum powered. * gasoline isn't powerful (perhaps 15% powerful in site visitors), and that's not sparkling. because of the fact it takes approximately 6 kilowatt-hours of capability just to refine a gallon of gasoline or diesel, and this capability on my own might desire to ability an EV 20 to 30 miles all by ability of itself, that's amazingly impossible to construct an gasoline powered automobile extra powerful than an electric powered automobile - the EV has already pushed to that's trip spot on the capability you used just to make your gasoline. * This leaves the competition between hydrogen gasoline cells and batteries. regrettably, hydrogen isn't probable a gasoline - that's extremely like the lithium in a lithium battery - that's barely portion of a chemical gadget for storing capability. * capability is "saved" by ability of keeping apart hydrogen from water - and capability is then released by ability of combining hydrogen with oxygen to make electricity interior the automobile, arising water back. this might properly be a reversible chemical technique, precisely how a battery works. The capability would not come from hydrogen, in many situations it comes from the electricity used to chop up hydrogen. The hydrogen shops the electricity, in basic terms like a battery does. * however the hydrogen cycle I even have defined is way less powerful than different battery technologies. So battery powered EVs are the main capability powerful.

I drive an old electric car like the ones for sale here:
*

*
None of these use either gasoline or diesel, except that some of them have little gas tanks that power a heater for use in the winter.
*
Instead, these plug into your electric outlet, and charge overnight.

I'm going to assume it's a hybrid, in which case it will take gasoline.

But the bad news is, you can buy a diesel car cheaper and get almost as good mileage as a hybrid, without the eventual expense of batteries.

I assume you really mean a duel fuel car! If you like diesel then buy a diesel version!

If it's all electric, then it won't take either of those fuels. Instead, there'll be a "recharging paddle" which is plugged into electric current.

Unless it's a hybrid, it will use electricity dude.

If it IS a hybrid, I'm pretty sure most of those use unleaded gasoline.
