Yahoo! Maps says that it is 2,536 miles. Assume covering 20 miles a day--6 days a week. (Rest one day per week.) That results in a trip of approximately 21 weeks. The trick is that there are some lonely stretches of desert between Barstow and Kingman with about 26 miles between any water.

well its like 4 or 5 months to walk the appalachian trail which is about 2000 miles and yr trip would be about 3000 miles so i'd say you could do it in 6 or 7 months.

some guy walked across the US to lose weight and it took him a little more than a year though. depends how much you can do a day.

i know someone who rode their bike on that route (40) and it took him 3 months.

Depends on how fast you walk. Pick the miles per hour and divide the total miles by the MPH. That is your answer.
