Generally people put it in hot tea... The heat of the tea the antioxidants in tea and the honey make for a healthy combination... You can eat honey straight.. SOme don't like the taste.. There is several different kinds of honey.. IF you don't like one try another.... Also, there is honey butter.. As far as I know it doesn't contain milk but it is spreadable if you have guten free bread you eat... My sister also has severe food allergies... She drinks echinachae tea with honey regularly.. She says it helps....

You can eat it any way you want...on a spoon, in tea, mixed in cereal, etc. For allergies, you want to be sure you have "local" honey, i.e., honey from hives in your area. That way you get the pollens from the local flowers, trees, weeds, etc. You can increase the impact of the honey on pollen allergies by buying local "bee bread." That is the little pollen balls the bees bring back to the hive. Mix a teaspoon of the bee bread into a new bottle of honey. Let it sit for a day, then use it anyway you want.
Hower, you should know that honey will NOT help food allergies though. That is a different problem, so if you are hoping it will help in that area...sorry.

Actually, honey can help seasonal allergies. The best thing to do is buy local honey. That is, honey that has been produced within 10 miles of your home. Since the bees use the pollen of local plants, this honey can help build an immunity in your system to these particular pollens. Simply eat one teaspoon twice a day. Just spoon out the honey and enjoy. Remember, it must be local honey to help.....and it also helps with that sore throat.

Try it in tea, if you like tea. You could just eat it from a spoon, but I would get sick of honey fast if I did that. Try looking at different sugar free cookbooks. Some of them will use honey as a natural sweetener. Just make sure you look and see whether honey is usually an ingredient before you buy the book. :-)

Yes, Local honey is the way to go. Look for it at your local grocery store, local Herb store, or health food store.
Rememeber herbal remedies can take longer to come into effect, so be sure to give it a month or two.
Just put some on a spoon and enjoy!
Good luck! Hope this works for you!

the best form of honey for allergies is to go to a local farm. Buy honey that is farmed within 5 miles from where you live, or atleast the closest.
Even better is to get the jars of honey with honeycomb and break or cut bits of the comb and suck on it.

A word of warning -- it is possible to be allergic to honey, too. If you are allergic to bees, or to pollen, don't try this! (I almost died of an allergic reaction to honey as teen when my mother tried to 'cure' my hay fever with it.)
Honey mixed with butter tastes good on toast or muffins. Honey is good to sweeten tea, but NOT Earl Grey -- the honey taste mixes badly with the bergamot... Then again, it should be good in orange-speice flavored tea. Honey in tea is effective for sore throats -- my best friend uses this. Says mixing in some cinnamon, or putting it in spiced tea, is best.

Some people mix it into water, or eat it straight. You can also mix it with tea.
