ok. I know that you can't diagnose this or anything but please just try to help in any way that you can.....I've been having unprotected sex with my boyfriend. My period normally comes around the 16th of every month but it didn't come. My nipples have been sore and my breasts have enlarged since the 14th. I've been exhausted, using the restroom more often, and have had swelling in my stomach for a while now. I get bad headaches and feel nausas but never throw up. I took an HPT when i was late and it said negative. I was 17 days late when my period started. It started out as spotting and now the flow is lighter than normal and i think its stopping, which means it would only be a 3-4 day period but i normally have full 7 day heavy period.
I'm wondering if there is any way i could be pregnant even if the test said negative, and i did start?
Also is there anything else that could make your period that late besides stress, or that kind of thing?
Thanks for all the help!!

Okay, I have been through the exact same thing hon. I had a normal period for two months in a row, had a negative HPT and still found out I was pregnant when I finally went to the doctor. Sweetie, you need to go see a doctor right away. If you need any other advice or just someone to talk to, my email is rxtech05@yahoo.com

Nope, there is no way your pregnant. You took a test and it was negative then you got your period. Just because you usually have 7 day long periods doesn't mean you cant have a period that last 3-4 days. That is completely normal.
You might have also had a miscarriage and not even have known it. A lot of women don't know when they have a miscarriage.
But since your pregnancy test came out negative I would say that was unlikely.
There is something going on with your body, that is for sure. It may not be pregnancy but it is something. You should really make an appointment with your doctor and talk to him about this.
Now is you have had a change in your eating habits or exercising habits, that will definitely affect your period.

I think you still may be pregnant, so I would go ahead and take another test. Hormone problems can make periods irregular. Other issues like endometriosis can also affect your period. Whether your next pregnancy test is positive or not, I would probably go ahead and see your doctor to make sure nothing else is going on.

Yes, you could still be pregnant. Do another test. If it's negative then go and get an exam.
If you're not pregnant, & don't want to be, stop having unprotected sex now & forever until you're ready to start planning a family.'

Yes, you could be pregnant, but it could also be something more serious. You need to go to a doctor, and for heaven's sake, stop having unprotected sex.

Hormone changes can cause an array of things to occur with your period, but yes....you COULD still be preggy...i had a "period" during my first preg. which my doc called breakthrough bleeding....imagine me trying to explain this to my hubby....whew....any ways....any bleeding or suspect of Preggy needs to be addressed by your medical professional of choice. Good luck.
