I'm not going to go into detailed critical commentaries to determine which was technically the 'best'... but I recently watched them all for the first time back to back and much preferred the second one. I liked the way that we'd spent the first film getting to know the two characters and they were kind of settled around each other by the second film, with Riggs practically living at Murtaugh's house, which is the kind of character relationship establishment you don't often get in series of films. Plus I found the second one managed to pack in the action without letting up or becoming boring. I suppose my opinion could change after repeated viewings though...

All of them are good where else would you get Joe Pesci asking for advice to send his African American friend to South Africa, A Chinese guy who can say fried rice but not prick(plick), trying to take a dump and discovering it wasn't the curry you had the night before is less explosive than whats under the seat, having a cop stuff your daughter then think hes coming on to you the list goes on they all have their funny sides but the best is for last,Danny Glovers line in the second one has new meaning for Mel Gibson, "Its just been revoked" probably both his license and his career.

The best Lethal Weapon movie of all time was filmed recently by Officer Mee in Malibu.
The plot: an anti-semetic rant
The weapon: a vicious tongue
Was it lethal?
Not to Jews, but possibly to Mel's career.

I like all of them. In the third film I like it when mel ribson makes his partner dance like a chicken in the road only wearing his boxers shorts. Then post them all around the offices.
