Of course there's a 3rd option...... you have twice as much glass as you need!

Every body has their own view. It depends on how you see things. If you are a satisfied soul than you will be satisfied with any amount and you will say the glass is half full but if you are an unsatisfied soul than you are going to say the glass is half empty.
The third option could be that the glass is neither empty nor full.

The glass is half full, but also the reality can not be denied that a prespective can be taken that the glass is half empty which is true as well. Thus I shall work to fill the glass in as much as it is empty but the beginning point of realization is how much of the glass is full.

then there is the saying that the glass is always full. Its just the matter of what it is full of, half air, half water, should you be content with that

I would say if you poured a half glass of water to analyze the perspective than I would say it is half full, because it was empty to begin with and was then filled. If however, you filled the entire glass up, then drank half of it, then your glass is half empty, because it started full and was emptied to half-way.

Third Option: The potential volume that the glass can contain is half comprised of water.

The glass is fully empty. Anything other than the glass is not glass, unless you filled the glass with glass, in which case, glass would become part of the original glass, and it would still be empty, and anything other than glass which occupied the glass would be non-glass, and thus said glass is always empty.

The glass is half full to the optimist and half empty to the cynic.
