I am married with two beautiful little baby's. My period is a couple of days late. I'm planning on getting a home pregnancy test.
Even though I don't want another baby right now, when taking a test at home and having it show a negative sign makes me a little sad.
Anyone else experience that???
I don't want to be pregnant but when I take that test and it comes out negative it makes me sad that I'm not.
Doesn't make sense, or does it?
My son is 17 months old
my daughter is 7 months old
So I really don't need or want another baby right now.
I'm not to worried about being pregnant yet. If I don't start in a couple of days then I might get a little worried. Getting a test on Monday though just to take.
PLease tell me your experience with finding a negative on your pregnancy test.

I went through the same thing a year ago. We weren't trying to have a baby yet, I still had a year of college to finish. But I was slightly disappointed when that test came back negative. I then realized that I'd like to have another baby (mine aren't exactly babies anymore at 10 and 8) but it just wasn't the right time then. Now I'm 22wks pregnant with my 3rd boy, I finished school in June, and I'm stoked to be a mommy again. So don't feel bad, you're not the only one.

I have done this twice, and I know exactly what you mean. The first time, I had switched form 1 brand of birth control pills to another, and my period didn't come the first month. I had been (and still am) in a monogamous relationship, so we were just so used to not using a back-up method, that we didn't, even though we should've. I took the test before I started the next pack of pills, and it was negative. I was still in high school, so it would've be an awful time to have a baby, but I still felt sad.

The second time was just a month ago. I have a 7 month old, and when he was 4 weeks, I had an IUD put in. Since I had my son, I still have not gotten my period back, so I just wanted to be sure, so I took a test, and it was, of course, negative. As much as I knew that it was definitely not the right time for another baby, I just couldn't help feeling disappointed.

Good luck with getting your period!

I can say that it is very depressing to find a negative result even if you are not trying,

I have a 2 and half year old and a 12 month old and am due in 5 weeks with #3.

It'll be hard but also rewarding.

Good luck and here's hoping for whatever result you want.

I actually did one test and we REALLY wanted it to be negative and it was but I cried my eyes out for days even though it was what we wanted,

Whenther you are trying or not for a child and you take a test it causes a sink in your heart. Just by thinking you may be even if it is not what you want gives you a tingle and sort of fear. Then when you find your not you are releaved but yet buymmed, very normal.... Exspecially since you are already a mom and love to be a mom. I sort of makes you sad cause you love your kids and even though dont want another you know you would do whatever you had to if you were pregnant.... It is normal and very very sweet. It is called having a heart ....

Yes, it is kinda sad. I have done that and even though I was nervous to think I might be pregnant and then take the test only to have it come out negative. It does sadden you kinda feel let down some, huh?

Sure its very normal to have those feelings. I have had them as well. I can tell that you love your children and any woman who wants or has kids knows the amazing feeling of knowing that you are carrying life inside you. So its normal even when you know that you dont literally want more babies right now to feel that little sense of loss at the possibility of a new life. Its perfectly normal, dont worry. You really want to see a "positive" sign yet, on the flip side, you do not want to have another child right now. You have mixed emotions and that is not uncommon for mothers to feel that way.

the results of a pregnancy test is just one of those tests that no matter the outcome a surge of emotion is attached to it. ive had 5 kids and 8 preg.....it all works out in the long run.....

I've been there. Totally normal. You haven't lost anything, yet you still feel like you've lost something. The sadness passes quickly.
