Yes. Your bass will work fine, providing it already functions with your six-string guitar.

The bass operates with much lower frequencies and can damage speakers not designed for that output. Make sure when you use a guitar amp to keep the volume down to keep from frying the speakers.

A good bass set-up usually involves a 400 watt 15" speaker , or 4 - 200 watt 10" speakers, or sometimes both; with at least 300 watts of clean power to drive it. Not that you would need all of that, but to keep your bass sound clean, and prevent overdriving the amp or speakers, it is best to have more power than you absolutely need.

you didn't say how much power the amp has, so I can only tell you that it will accept the bass as a source and try to amplify it. It won't sound great and not much power if it's a small unit. You can use it to practice, but don't expect to crank it up much. Whne I was learning to play guitar and bass many moons ago, I did not have money to buy an Amp, so I use to hook my instruments to my stereo Hi-Fi auxilary input and rock out.....
don't ask what Hi-Fi is....I would date myself!

You need a bass amp to play a bass; blowing out your guitar speaker would be the least of your problems.
