The Wall Street Journal -- it has some of the best writing on the market, particularly in its front-page feature stories. (Honestly, as a newspaper that eschews graphics and pictures, it wouldn't survive unless its writing was in top condition.)

However, I agree with a previous poster who said that newspapers are "yesterday's news" -- they are. For today's news, I tend to turn to online sources, such as AP wire stories. I suspect that most modern newspapers are going to have to reconfigure themselves into something more akin to magazines, focusing on analysis and commentary of recent events, rather than on breaking stories. To varying degrees, they are already doing this, which is one reason I can still get something worthwhile out of them.

The Times on Saturday
The Telegraph on Sunday

They have the best crosswords and other puzzles!

Have you tried the "Griddler" in the Telegraph?

I won a bottle of vintage malt whisky from "The Times" so it gets my deciding vote!

News is free and more immediate on the box but the analysis in the press is deeper and more diverse.

PS - Add the "Yorkshire Post" - very readable (and I've won the crossword three times!

Don't bother anymore with the daily papers. No point as the news is old. Internet, TV and radio keep me up to date.
