Well, wouldn't it be a nice world if we all truly cared for one another? But to put it simply - that's not how it is. Sure, you'll have those one or two people that really care and can truly shed a "real" tear for one another...but as a quote I've heard once before (I don't remember the person who said it) "The tears that dry the quickest are those for another person." Sadly, that quote is very true. As an answer directly to your question - yes, most people are fakes (when they act as though they are sad or upset about ever darn thing that happens to be going on with someone else other than themselves or a close friend/family member - you can almost bet - they're faking) Whether people fake for attention or not I don't know...but there are many of them in this world.

It would be nice to think that everyone cares what happens to each other.....especially family and friends. Now for strangers I can't answer that...but I know I don't like to see people hurt or dying even if I don't know them. I hope we are not fakes...but there are many people out there that are.

If we really care about ourself, then we will also care about others for the following reasons:
1. It is more reasonable to believe that others are other *selves* than that they are not.
2. Given 1, harming another is harming another self.
3. Selves have more in common with each other than they have differences.
4. Given 1, 2, and 3, the Golden Rule applies: Behave towards others (other selves) as you would have others behave towards yourself.

I care about what happens to people. In fact I care about what happens to everyone, even those Ive never met. We all should, because in the end, we are all connected. "No man is an island"

Some people do.
But most are just feelin it and sayin it because everyone does.
I knew a woman who called herself a devout Catholic but in her daily life, she had 50 bucks for facial cream but nothing to give to the needy.

to tell the truth, if you were telling em right now that 10 people had just been shot outside of my house i would be quite entertained, and would be running outside to get a closer look. so, i guess i don't care a lick about you to put it frankly in the best possible nice way i can!!!!!

We're faking it. When the crap hits the fan, you'd sell your mother down the river just to save your own skin. Most would disagree, but like I said, when the crap hits the fan, all things change.
