I think you have to get to know someone already in the organization and they will sponsor you to join(if they believe you are "worthy"). If you don't know anyone ask around (Politely!). I've ran into a lot of men of my grandfathers age that have said they were in the Freemasons (when asked) and would answer general and polite questions that didn't reveal any "secrets". This was when I was in college and working for an assisted living center where the gentlemen lived so I had a lot more opportunity to ask the right people at the right time.

My father-in-law is a freemason and my late husband was.You have to be invited by someone who is already one. As for the person who thinks you need money and power our family never have just working classpeople.
They were very good when my husband died and funded my childrens higher education. They do a lot for charity that people dont hear about only the negitive side.

You have to be invited. My dad is one. Any man aged over 18 can become a freemason, as long as he is not an atheist and lives by ideals including tolerance, belief in the spirit of brotherhood and community service.

For those people who think that it's a joke (sarell & rrbowker2002 & pol) - did you know that they organise charities and raise money for sick and disabled children and hospitals?

A Freemason freemason or a devil worshipping George Bush Freemason?

I am a Freemason of an esoteric Order, American Co-Masonry. Regarding the sexist pig remark, American Co-Masonry admits WOMEN and men of all races and gender preferences, as long as they are of good moral character, at least 21 yrs of age, and believe in a Supreme Being. Women can and do work all the degrees, hold office, and can rise as high in the Order as they themselves are capable.

In order to become a Freemason, you must get a petition (questionnaire) and then submit it to the Order. After that you will be contacted and interviewed. Your interview will be read aloud to the Lodge and ballotted upon. Simple as that.

We practice the ancient alchemy of turning the lead in ones heart into gold. We do keep our rites to ourselves because we want our candidates to experience them for themselves, not be comparing them to something they read in a book or on the Internet. There is nothing demeaning or hostile in our rites. Everything in our rites is symbolic, of course.

As far as money? My yearly dues are less than what I would spend on a nice dinner for myself and my lady. We do try to awaken the heart to charity but no one checks how much you give or do not give. I admit, I drive about 800 miles a month to go to my two Blue Lodges. That is voluntary and I hold office in both. Fact is, I have only missed two Lodge meetings since I have been a Co-Mason.

As far as the strictly men only Orders, I know quite a few of the guys that are or have been in them. They are sterling folk.

If you wish to know more about joining American Co-Masonry, please feel free to click on the link below or write me.

You have to be invited....try to find someone who is a Freemason and let them know that you are interested in joining......if you don't know anyone, just mention it when you are talking to people and sooner or later you will find that you are talking to a member..then ask.

If your deadly serious about it I can find out for you as a mate of mine used to be a FreeMason. However I think that you have to know someone whos in already then have to do certain tests to get in.
But I don't know but I can find out for you if your serious.

Approach your local lodge. It is not that secretive they all have websites and most are listed in the local phone books. If you get stuck contact me and I will refer you to your local lodge. Please include your reasons for joining. And yes I am a freemason of a high order.

In order to become a freemason, you must copulate with a freemason for 3 nights and 4 days in a wooden box made of steel.

As the saying goes "To be one, ask one."

Find a local lodge (try the phone book under "Fraternal Organizations" or use Google) and speak to them.
