I'm sorry to hear about the breakup, they can be so painful.

Harsh reality can be very tough and I'm glad to hear that you don't want to use drugs in order to escape it. Drugs and alcohol only leave a person who's upset and depressed feeling worse.

I know it's little consolation right now, but keep in mind that these hard experiences can also be learning experiences. You can tap into strengths you never knew you had. You can get to know yourself better. You may find new friends (even a new girlfriend) through this experience.
Just please remember that things WILL get better.

In order to "escape" the pain of your reality right now, reach out to friends if you can and talk to them or just go out with them. If you can't do this, then do something for yourself that will take your mind off your pain for a while like watching a movie or t.v. show (something funny or uplifting) or reading, going out for a long walk or listening to music. Immersing yourself in writing or computer work can help too.

Recognise that what you're going through right now is grief. The grief of your breakup. People get hurt in life and there's no way to be completely immune from this, it's just part of life.

If things get to be too much for you then go seek help by going to the hospital ER (they can find a mental health counselor for you to talk for if you're suicidal) or by calling 1800 SUICIDE.

Take care

Ahh, reality is actually less painful than running away from it. I know, breaking up is hard to do...cliche, I know. Call it a sappy way to remember songs. Anyhow, seriously...breaking up with someone we care about does hurt. But what hurts worse is when we allow that pain to grow, and when we begin to fall into the trap of wanting to escape the pain. Running away, escaping reality...does not solve anything. It just delays you dealing with it longer. It is an illusion. I know this is probably the last thing you want to hear, but reality and truth help a lot more than illusions and deceit. Be careful of what you are asking for, because in the long run...you are asking for more pain.

Find yourself an absorbing hobby. The kind that absorbs all your mind and engages the muscles. Try rock climbing or ballroom dancing. You escape the reality for a few hours. Afer you return, it's not as bad. And you have something to look forward to tomorrow.

Making a few friends might be a good start even if you have to compromise your ego and hatred of everything in the pursuit of self enjoyment

If thats not an option perhaps you could take up hiking...you can do it alone, commune with nature and leave the rest of the world behind you

OK man ...drugs are not the answer ...in fact they keep you from progressing spiritually and keep you in dysfunction. Here is my advice....buy these CDs and listen to them slowly at your own pace. Meditate to them....you will not escape reality ...but you will find inner peace and tranquility...

THE POWER OF NOW by Eckhart Tolle

I guarantee if nothing else you will find inner peace and more happiness come into your life...good luck to you....Nameste

dream. day dream, fantasize a world of your liking. come out of it every now & then though. for if one is in thier own world too long, they become truly lost.

meditate. clear your mind of all things undiserable, but do not fill your head back up with all the greatness of imagination that will lead to dreams. just empty your head of all the garbage, & see what you got left.

pray. find hope in some greater purity than yourself. humble yourself, realize that you, & everything around you are not constants in "the big picture".

hopefully, these will help you. but keep in mind you must do these consistantly. otherwise, hope will begin to fail you again.

Meditate. Go camping. Read a book. Pray. Fish. Sing. Dance. Sleep. Write.

I am sorry you are having so much terrible time with the world's realities. Killing yourself does not solve the problem because your soul will rise with pains you already have and that pain will not go away, because in my opinion soul is spirit plus all the sum total experience in life carried with it in spirit trace form.

I went through a lot of it myself. My reasoning goes like this.
I want to do what I want to do as long as it is not evil act. If the world doesn't approve it, I ignore them because deep down I am aware that I used my God given gift of reasoning and decided to do what I want to do. My free will is given by God to decide and enjoy gifts in life. I put myself completely in God's hands and refrain from doing things with evil intent. And I give thanks to God in every thing I do and always look forward for His guidance. Once I see myself in God's hands, I know nothing can hurt me. So I live to do what is right and stop expecting the fruits of the acts Ido the way I want them; let God decide what those fruits are to be and in what form. Iaccept what comes through and move on to the next phase or endevor of life.

Using drugs is a copout. God gave you intelligence and gifts to be used before they go stale. You can learn meditation or prayer and go into deeper states of consciousness and forget the world without using drugs. In meditation or prayer, you are with God's spirit as you become more aware of your own peaceful spirit and dwell in it, you will gain mental peace automatically and begin to enjoy life. Happiness is in your mind; it is not outside in the society or material comforts or even human love, unless you form a proper foundation for it. And the foundation starts when you begin to think that your life, your intelligence, your emotions, your creativity, everything yiou have, your friends, family, jobs, etc. all belong to God and you are the custodian of those and are blessed to enjoy them. The moment you think you own them, then your miseary begins. God Bless.
