Black eyed susans are very easy and can be transplanted anytime. I've done it in the middle of July 100 degrees. Right now is a great time!

I've transplanted cosmos and zinnias in the last few weeks and they mostly did fine. Just make sure that you water them till they are established in the pots you put them in. Put them in an area that gets morning sun, afternoon shade till they are established. Or if you transplant them directly to their new location, make they get enough water too.

fall or spring is best......are you transplanting to thin them out or from pots......their clumps break up easy...I always used to spread the seeds where ever I wanted more waves of them. God I miss those flowers, my new yard has mostly shade...but some beautiful antique flowers....

Spring would be the best time...when the new plants are emerging from the soil. If you wait til spring, you'll also find that many plants reseeded and you'll have tons more than you had the year before. MORE to share. :-)

late fall or early winter is best, after they go dormant for the winter, this allows them to develop a good root system before next years growing season!
