i loved a walk to remember, but the notebook is better in my opinion.
it is set in a very romantic time and a man remodeling an old plantation home is down right love. well, the guy in a walk to remember making her a telescope is just as good.
dang it, now i think about it, i kinda like them about the same.
the men fight for what they want and change for the better. both will do anything for their lady love. ok, i change my mind. wait a minute, the notebook does have that really hot sex scene. sorry, to put it so bluntly, but wow.
however, there doesn't have to be sex in a movie to make it romantic. i am going to have to say i like them both about the same. sorry.....

I enjoyed both of these movies. I think A Walk to Remember would be appreciated more by the younger crowd, those who are still single as opposed to The Notebook which would be more appreciated by those who are older (not necessarily elderly) and/ or married.
Both movies will make you cry!
These kinds of stories don't easily translate to screen without often getting cheesy and sappy but I think in both movies the actors did a great job of getting the point across without going in that direction.
I wish there had been a little bit better relationship development for the main characters in 'a Walk' but overall it was a good movie.
****** I just wanted to add that I notice a lot of people referring to Keaneu Reeves. My post is referring to A Walk to Remember with Mandy Moore and Shane West. the Keaneu reeves movie is called "A Walk in the Clouds" This was also a very good movie- great actors- unique storyline!*******

The notebook was a FAR better movie, altho both were good. I cried so hard after that movie that I had to remove my contacts for a week! I just watched it again for the 3rd time last week.
just an interesting trivia here...I heard that Britney Spears tried out for the lead role. can you imagine what a different movie that would have been? Yikes! Rachel McAdams was wonderful! Im still in la la land waiting for my Ryan Gosling...sigh.....

I am going to have to lean with A walk to Remember...I have to go with first impressions and I did not like the Notebook the first time I saw it. I am suprised that it has such a following. I would have to see it again, but I remember there was one scene I thought was authentic and that I liked. I think that A walk to remember has some cheeseball elements; but I enjoyed watching that movie.

I enjoyed them both......urgh, what a hard decision. For a comedy I would choose the notebook, for a good REAListic movie I would choose A walk to remember. It also makes me want to be better and enjoy life more.

They are both perfect chick flicks. Both made me cry. Both are ones I enjoy to watch again and again. If I was in a more nostalgic mood, I would watch the notebook. A walk to remember is great for slumber parties.

the notebook!! that was so swet the way he took care of her even after they were old. i love this movie so much it definitely wins!!!
besides, mandy moore cannot act. she's probably a worst actress than a singer, which i didn't think was possible.
