Yes "surfinthedesert" is right, but partially. Studies show that many shoe users change their socks sometimes twice/ thrice in a day. Then coming to sweat absorbtion, again you are right in saying Socks are meant to absorb Sweat, but most of them don't do this. When our feet is sweaty and the socks is unable to absorb and remove sweat, it becomes a breeding ground for bacteria resulting in un-hygienic foot condition and odor.

This is for "judy_r8". There are several technologies used to prevent odor and remove sweat. You'll be surprised to know that even "Nano-Technology" is used for this purpose. There are Socks available in the market which retain odor prevention and sweat removal properties for the life time of the socks, even if they are washed daily.

No. If you bathe everyday and change your socks everyday, there won't be any odor. Furthermore, socks are meant to absorb sweat--that is exactly what they are for. Third, bacteria doesn't grow in socks anymore than any other article of clothing, and I doubt bacteria is a problem at all if they are laundered regularly.

that chemical is washed out the first time you use detergent or bleach, and then they are just regular socks that you paid extra for. Just wear clean sox every day, and you won't have that problem
